These Obelisks are replicas of the cast iron columns that support the façade of former Traction Company studio. In 2015, the west Philadelphia cooperative had an exhibition at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts surrounding the instability and displacement threatening the artist-run workspace. In response, I created these memorial relics of the industrial architecture from salvaged structural materials of a demolished building nearby.
